Hi Everybody,
This is the first demo I have published. Sorry for using MegaUp but I couldn't get my game lower than the 1 GB limit.
I want to thank you for playing my game and hope to hear what I should be improving! If you want to see more of the development process you can go to: https://www.youtube.com/@gamebeauadvanced8870 where I post Dev logs.
Controls:
Made for the controller
( I couldn't develop for mouse and controller at once so I dropped mouse and keyboard, Some mouse functions are still working.)
Hotkeys:
ESC = closes the app
Ctrl + J = Unlock all abilities
Ctrl + H = Infinite health
Ctrl + G = Infinite ammo

nice job! Really fun. Overall I definitely see potential. My two biggest feedback points - make the jump a lot higher (it feels too heavy and short) and the slide much quicker and farther (it feels like you stop moving before you slide and then it feels slow, not very fluid). Also, really want a map but I know that’s being worked on
oh and the headband physics looked very strange. It would flow forward even if you’re running forward, when it should be trailing behind you.
Thanks a bunch for the feedback! Its a big help!
Heres my thoughts on what you said,
On first thought IDK about making the jump higher. But you maybe right, the double jump definitely needed to be higher (I’m testing that now) and I think that making the basic jump higher will make jumping over enemies easy, and movement more fluid.
The comment about the slide is exactly the type of feedback I need! I stopped tweaking the slide, because I just got used to it and it no longer felt like a problem. But your totally right. The slide uses Rootmotion animation so the character totally stops moving at the start of the animation. Its a relatively easy fix, too.
Unfortunately, the map is a lot harder to implement than I thought. I have a setup that I used before but, I plan on researching more into it before committing to developing the map.
When it comes to the headband, I believe thats the wind I put into the level. The cloth sims are still early but the wind implementation is all over the place., when you enter a room and the wind would start blowing at 100mph,I decided to completely rework the dynamic wind system.
Thanks again!
gotcha, good luck! Love the strider influence
